International Practicum, Trips & Conferences

Practicum

Consider doing your Practicum requirement abroad. Speak to your program coordinator, or email eelaps@yorku.ca for more information.

Funding is available from the Faculty of LA&PS for up to $1,000 towards additional costs for completing your Practicum requirement abroad.  Funding is also available from York International, as well as other sources.  Please review our Funding page for more information.

Experiential Trips

International/Experiential field trips, designed as a component of a LA&PS course, provide students with a context to actively explore and deeply understand the concepts and methodologies of the course.

An example of a field trip for course credit is AP/HUMA 3825 6.0 The Holocaust in Cross-Cultural Context: Canada, Germany, Poland

LA&PS has limited funds to support field trips and field experience opportunities, and has made a strategic decision to prioritize international travel opportunities outside North America, as these have the greatest potential to offer an enriching cultural and linguistic experience to students. Field trips to the United States may be considered for financial support in cases that involve considerable travel and significant costs.

Funding is available from the Faculty of LA&PS for up to $1,000 towards additional costs for participating in an Experiential Trip.  Funding is also available from York International, as well as other sources.  Please review our Funding page for more information.

International Conference Presentations

Students who have been invited to present at an international conference are eligible to receive funding support.

Students may be eligible for a grant from the Student Experience Fund. Find out more information about Student Experience Fund eligibility here.

Additional Funding is also available from the Faculty of LA&PS in varied amounts towards additional costs for presenting at an international conference.  Funding is also available from York International, as well as other sources.  Please review our Funding page for more information.
