CH 2030 6.0 - Intermediate Chinese Language and Culture in China: Shanghai as an International and Chinese Centre

Are you ready to immerse yourself in the Chinese language and culture during the summer of 2024, in the heart of Shanghai, the pulsating economic capital of China? Experience campus life at Fudan University, one of China's top universities, where you can learn Chinese not only in classrooms but also amid the vibrant subway, streets, museums, theaters, and many other exciting sites in Shanghai. On-site learning will significantly enhance your command of the Chinese language and deepen your cultural insights more rapidly and profoundly.

This study abroad course in Shanghai extends beyond traditional instruction by integrating Chinese calligraphy into your language and cultural studies. A renowned calligraphy artist from Shanghai will lead special workshops, providing you with an exceptional, hands-on experience. Additionally, the course features cultural enrichment activities such as a welcome dinner to commence your journey, martial arts lessons to forge a connection with China's ancient traditions, and a Chinese cooking class to delight in and learn about the Chinese cuisine.

The course culminates with a five-day cultural journey to Hangzhou, Nanjing, and the picturesque countryside of Zhejiang Province, where you'll have the opportunity to explore the region's stunning landscapes and rich history.

Throughout your stay, accommodations and meals at Fudan University are thoughtfully arranged, complete with a daily meal plan. Furthermore, LA&PS, in collaboration with our partner Fudan University, will handle all logistical details, from airport transfers to city sightseeing tours, ensuring your study abroad experience is both enriching and hassle-free.
