Welcome to June! It’s a month to celebrate Pride and Indigenous voices – plus tons of events, opportunities and ways to get involved across LA&PS.

Indigenous History Month

June marks Indigenous History Month – a time to honour the history, cultures and ongoing presence of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. It’s an opportunity to engage with the Indigenous knowledges, languages and practices that shape York and enrich communities across Canada.

Check out the new Moccasin Identifier installation outside York University Station, featuring four engraved moccasin designs along the pathway. This initiative advances the principles of reconciliation and fosters public awareness of First Nations’ treaties, history, culture and traditions through education, collaboration and art.
